A ministry which has greatly touched my family's lives is Vision Forum. I recently received a letter from their President, Doug Phillips about a struggle with eminent domain that has hit them hard! Here is an excerpt from that letter:
"The City of San Antonio has recently declared their intention to seize our national headquarters by condemning the property through eminent domain. It is their intention to demolish our building and replace it with a fire station.
The targeting of Vision Forum Ministries headquarters for seizure by the city government came about a half a year after members of our staff attended a city council meeting and appealed to our Mayor and City Council to reconsider their radical pro-homosexual agenda which manifest in leading city officials participating in "gay-pride" parades.
We do not know if there is any connection between our appeal and the city's decision to seize our building, but we do know that the city has communicated to us their decision to take it. Consequently, we now face one of the most significant crises in the history of this ministry - the loss of our home."
Vision Forum has taught many of its students about the abuses of the eminent domain clause (Fifth Amendment of the Constitution) for many years, and now they are learning first hand the effects of government seized property.
This invasion threatens the effectiveness if not the existence of Vision Forum Ministries. I would like to ask readers to look into the ministry and if you feel it is a worthwhile ministry, please support them through this difficult time. Click here for their mission statement.
Thanks everyone!
